Childhood and adolescence
A little town of Portland in the Maine state is Anna’s homeland where she emerged in this world in 1985. Her dad was a bookkeeper and her mom worked as a teacher of history. Anna has a sibling – Michael Cooke Kendrick.
Anna was going to the elementary school and high school with her brother. “I graduated from high school early so I could move to New York to do 'A Little Night Music' out of the New York City Opera” Anna said in one of her interviews.
Anna’s first time in set was at the age of 10. Then her mom and dad permitted her to attend a few auditions in a “big apple”. In the year of 1998, Anna’s debut on the stage on Broadway occurred. It brought her premiere prize Tony nomination, which became her incredible achievement. Later, Anna emerged in various productions, as well as musicals.
Anna received her first part in the motion picture in “Camp”. After, there was a short break, and the next part was available only in 2007, when she was portrayed in the coming-of-age comedy “Science Rocket”. Anna showed her musical talent on TV with an appearance in the music drama “Viva Laughlin”, which lasted only a few episodes.
Anna’s finest hour was reached in 2008, thanks to an incredibly successful “Twilight”. The movie became an international sensation and brought Anna her huge popularity.
After, Anna appeared in “Somewhere Else”, which was traced by “The Experience of Marc Pease”. These movies, however, were not noticed. In the year of 2009, Anna was on the set of “Up in the Air”, where she played along with Vera Farmiga and George Clooney. Despite that Anna’s part was supportive, it nominated her for Oscar and Golden Globe.
The motion picture made Anna look like a young and talented actress. She got offer to work in “50/50”. In summer of 2010, Anna was one of the actresses in a comedy picture “Pilgrim Scott vs. the World”.
The year of 2012 brought Anna a bunch of interesting motion pictures. She emerged in the romance comedy “What to Wait When You're Waiting”. The 2012’s “Pitch Perfect” was very successful for Anna where she led a college singing group. “After doing 'Pitch Perfect,' I didn't expect to do other musicals, but then I was offered 'The Last Five Years' and 'Into the Woods,' which are two of the greatest pieces of theater that I can think of. So obviously I wasn't going to be like, 'Oh I'm trying to really stay away from musicals right now, so thanks, but I'll pass” Anna said.
Anna received her supporting part in “Your Company” as well.
In 2013, Anna played in “Drunken Buddies”. The following year, “Christmas of Happiness” was out, along with the “The Voices”, “Beth”, “The 5 last years”, “Cake”, “Into the Forest”. In 2015, Anna appeared in the second part of “Pitch Perfect”. And the next year she will appear on the big screens action thriller “The Accountant”.
Since 2009, Anna has been dating with Edgar Wright. The pair broke up in 2013.
